Using Camps For Overnight

DAY 1 TUESDAY  PALMWAG - HOARUSIB RIVER VALLY REGION:
Travel over Sesfontein Pass to Sesfontein and Opuwo. Short stop at Kaoko Otavi to visit large spring, Dorslandtrekker Ruins. and refreshing swim. Continue to Hoarusib River Valley. See Ovahimba families en route. Arrive at Hoarusib River. Overnight camp beneath enormous Mopane trees on river bank.

DAY 2 WEDNESDAY  HOARUSIB RIVER VALLEY REGION - ORUPEMBE REGION:
Walk along Hoarusib River before continuing. Ovahimba families en route, explore village. Overnight in open camp in Orupembe region, an Ovahimba settlement.

DAY 3 THURSDAY  ORUPEMBER REGION - SERRA CAFEMA:
Travel to western Kaokoland and Camp Serra Cafema. Relax under shady Anna trees (Faidherbia albida) along Kunene River. Overnight at Serra Cafema.

DAY 4 FRIDAY   SERRA CAFEMA:
Variety of activities: guided 4 x 4 sightseeing tours, boat trips, fishing trips, hikes and Ovahimba visits. Overnight at Serra Cafema.

DAY 5 SATURDAY  SERRA CAFEMA:
Variety of activities: guided 4 x 4 sightseeing tours, boat trips, fishing trips, hikes and Ovahimba visits. Overnight at Serra Cafema.

DAY 6 SUNDAY   SERRA CAFEMA - HOARUSIB RIVER VALLY REGION:
Travel towards Palmwag, along border of Skeleton Coast Park into Hoarusib River. Travel to Kaokohochland. Possibly view Desert Elephant. Overnight camp in the open on banks of Hoarusib River.

DAY 7 MONDAY  HOARUSIB RIVER VALLY REGION - PALMWAG:
Game drive in search of Desert Elephants. Short stop at Sesfontein, a one-time Schutztruppen outpost with 6 water springs. Travel to Palmwag Lodge where tour ends on arrival.
