Nepal Trek 
EVEREST BASE CAMP TREK - 17 DAYS

 

 

Everest base camp is one of the most spectacular treks in the Himalayas, along routes lined and carved out by beautiful, multi-hued prayer flags, prayer wheels and intricately carved Mani stones.

Not only is Everest Base Camp exceptionally close the world's highest mountain (8,850m) but it is also home to the wonderful friendly Sherpa people, picturesque villages, variety of cultures, traditions, colourful festivals and monasteries.

ITINERARY

Please note that we can also add in extra acclimatisation days ont he everest base camp trek, or move them around to have them later in the climb.

For this trek, you can choose between staying in Lodges or camping in Tents.

Day 1: Arrive Kathmandu & Transfer to Hotel.

 

Day 2: Full day guided sightseeing around of the Kathmandu valley.

 

Lukla Airstrip

Day 3 Flight: Kathmandu (1,310m) - Lukla (2,840m). Trek to Phakding (2,610m). (2-3 hours).

Our early morning trek begins with a flight into Lukla - is a lifetime experience, in itself. The airfield is on a slope and the difference between the two ends of the runway is about 60 meters! We start the everest base camp trek for a few hours along the Dudh Kosi River to the village of Phakding 2,610m & lodge or camp overnight.

 

Day 4 Phakding (2,610m) – Namche bazaar (3,440m). (5 hours)

The trek today takes us through a magnificent forest of rhododendron, magnolia trees and giant firs, as we head up toward Namche. After a steep descent and another steep climb through the forest we reach our lodge or camp site.

 

 

Day 5 Namche bazaar (Acclimatization day 3,440 m).

We will spend a day to help acclimatization. You are welcome to go on a day hike in the area.

 

 

Day 6: Namche to Tengboche (3,860m) (5 hrs).

With incredible views of the Thamserku we steadily descend to the Imja Khola where we see a series of water driven prayer wheels. Later, we ascend to Tengboche Monastery (3,860m) - one of the most beautiful places in the world. Overnight Camp or Lodge.

Namche Bazaar

Day 7: Tengboche to Pheriche (4,312m) (5 hrs).

Continuing up the Imja Khola valley, we head towards the summer village of Pheriche (4,260m). Overnight Camp or Lodge.

 

 

Day 8: Pheriche to Lobuche (4,920m) (4-5 hrs).

After ascending up a small ridge we contour around the base of Khumbu Glacier. After lunch, we head off on a steep ascent to the terminal moraine of the glacier and onto the foot off the Lobuche Ice Fall (4,930m). Overnight Camp or Lodge.

 

 

Day 9: Lobuche to Gorakshep (5,140m) (4 hrs).

 

Today is a short trekking day as we head to Gorek Sherpa.

Day 10: Hike up to Kalapatthar (5,545m). / Retrace your steps to Dingboche (4,410m) (5 hrs).

We will head off early morning up Kala Patthar for breathtaking views of Everest. We then return and continue to Dingboche for our overnight stay in a lodge or tent.

 

 

Day 11: Dingboche to Tengboche (3,860m) (5 hrs).

Today we have a relatively easy walk along the Imja Khola with a visit to the gompa at Pangboche, before climb up the famous Tengboche Monastery. Camp or Lodge overnight.

 

Day 12: Tengboche to Namche (3,440m) (4 hrs).

We head off on a long descent down the right flank of the Dudh Kosi valley to Namche. Camp or Lodge overnight.

 

 

Day 13: Namche to Phakding (2,610m). (3-4 hours).

We head down along the gorge of the Dudh Kosi to the small village of Phakding. Overnight Lodge or Camp.

 

 

Day 14: Phakding to Lukla (2,840m) (3 hrs).

Today, we head to the little airstrip of Lukla where we camp or lodge overnight.

 

 

Day 15: Flight: Lukla (2,840m) - Kathmandu (1,310m). Hotel Overnight.

 

 

Day 16: Free day to explore, and enjoy Kathmandu. Hotel Overnight.

 

 

Day 17: Final Departure.
