Morocco Tour 1 - 
ANDALOUSIAN HERITAGE

 
 
The fastest way to discover Morocco in the frame of a 15 days tour including Spain and or Portugal, and to admire the splendours of the Islamic refined arts, both in the South of Spain and the North of Morocco. When the Andalous Muslims and Jews were expelled from Spain in the 15th century, many of them emigrated to the Northern cities of Morocco where they brought their refined culture and arts.
During this tour, you will visit some of the most beautiful Andalous style monuments.

DAY 1 ALGECIRAS / TANGIER
Arrival at Tangier port by ferry or hydrofoil from Algeciras. Welcome by our staff and transfer to your hotel. Lunch in a local restaurant. Sightseeing of Tangier : the medina, "Grand and Petit Socco", the Kasbah square overlooking the ocean and the Spanish coasts , the Hercules' grottoes at Cape Spartel. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
  
 


DAY 2 TANGIER / TETOUAN / CHECHAOUENE / FEZ (330 km/205 mi)
After breakfast, departure to Tetouan and visit of the medina, exterior of the Royal Palace, the Mellah Jewish quarter, Bab Remouz. Then continuation to Chechaouene holy town, nestled between two mountains. Visit of the medina, the kasbah, the Uta El Hammam square, Jamaa El Kebir great mosque (15th century). Lunch in Chechaouene, then continuation to Fez. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

DAY 3 FEZ
After breakfast, the whole day is devoted to the visit of Fez, the religious capital of Morocco : the medieval medina with its Attarine and Bou Inania Medersas, the Nejjarine fountain, the Moulay Idriss Mausoleum, the Karaouine & the Andalous mosques, the Mellah Jewish quarter. Lunch in a Moroccan palace in the medina. Afternoon, visit of Fez el Jdid. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

DAY 4 FEZ / BENI MELLAL / MARRAKESH (490 km/305 mi)
After breakfast, early departure to Marrakesh through the Atlas mountains. You will enjoy a view over the small Berber villages surrounding the region of Immouzer, Ifrane a ski resort and Azrou. Stop for lunch at Beni Mellal a rich agricultural centre. Then continuation to Marrakesh. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

DAY 5 MARRAKESH
After breakfast, discovery of the ''Red Pearl'' and Imperial City : the Koutoubia minaret, the Saadian Tombs and the Bahia Palace and the Menara gardens. Lunch at the hotel. In the afternoon, you will enjoy the Djemaa El Fna square and its snake-charmers, story-tellers, acrobats and will also have free time for shopping in the fascinating souks. Moroccan dinner under tents with horse fantasia and folklore show in the palm grove. Overnight at the hotel.

DAY 6 MARRAKESH OR CASABLANCA AIRPORT (285 km/177 mi)
After breakfast, transfer to Menara Marrakesh airport or to Casablanca Mohamed V airport. Assistance to the boarding formalities and farewell from our staff.
