Day ( 01 ) Tripoli airport / Tripoli
hotel
Transfer from Tripoli airport to the hotel. After check in
visit the old city, the souk, Islamic quarters and the arch
of Marcus Aurelius.
Tripoli – Oea – the bride of the Mediterranean is the
capital of Libya. It was founded by the Phoenicians in 1000
B.C. and was later conquered by the Romans.
Dinner at a city restaurant. Night at the hotel*****.
Day ( 02 ) Tripoli / Sabrata /
Benghazi
Morning visit to the excellent national museum of Tripoli.
Departure to view the extensive ruins of the Roman site of
Sabrata. First settled by the Phoenicians as a trading post,
it was transformed in a city by Romans and built during the
1 st and 2 nd centuries AD .The site offers a majestic
collection of public and private buildings, the forum, the
temples of Liber Pater, Serapis, Isis, Hercules, many baths,
etc. The most outstanding monument at Sabrata is the
theatre, beautifully restored.
Lunch in a restaurant near the site. Afternoon flight to
Benghazi
Night at the hotel*****.
Day ( 03 ) Benghazi / Tolmeita / Gaser
Libya
Full day viewing the sites of Tokra, Tolmeita, and Gaser
Libya. This is a heavy-duty day of sightseeing with a number
of rich archaeological and cultural sites being covered. Our
first stop is at Teuchira or Arsinoe, a greek city partially
excavated.
Ptolemais offer today remains of hellenistic and late roman
times: the hellenistic palace, theatres, the Bouleuterion
and a monumental street. It has an interesting small museum,
with a good collection of statues and mosaics. Gaser Libya
houses a wonderful collection of mosaic panels dating back
to the 6th century A.D. and coming from the floor of a
byzantine church.

Day ( 04 ) Benghazi / Cyrene /
Apollonia / Benghazi
Full day exploring the sites of the Greek cites of Cyrene
and Apollonia. Another interesting day into the Greco-Roman
times. Cyrene was founded by the Greeks in 631 B.C. and was
later occupied by the Romans and then the Byzantine and the
Arabs. The interesting sites here are the temples of Zeus
and Apollo, the agora' (the principal square ), the
Gymnasium. Apollonia (Sousa) was the port of Cyrene and is
located 20 kms north. Here we see the great Theatre, the
Byzantine churches and palace. (B, D)

Day ( 05 ) Benghazi / Tripoli / Leptis
Magna / Zliten
Morning flight to Tripoli. Full day to exploring the
wonderful site of the Roman City of Leptis Magna including a
visit to the excellent museum. The highlight of any visit to
Libya is to see
LeptisMagna, now known as Libda. Originally a Phoenician
port, settled during the 1 st millennium BC, Leptis became a
city under Roman domination in the 3rd century AD, under the
Roman Emperor Septimius Severus, born in Leptis Magna, it
flourished and grow as one of the most important city of the
Roman Empire. We will see the vast site including the
Triumphal Arch, the huge Basilica, the Forum, the Public
Baths, the Market, the Theatre, the Harbour, the Circus, the
Amphitheatre, etc.
Lunch in a restaurant near the site. Dinner & night at
the hotel.
Day ( 06 ) Zliten / Villa Silin /
Tripoli
Morning departure to the wonderful Roman site of villa Silin,
an extraordinary private house on the seaside with wonderful
mosaics Lunch en route.
Dinner at a city restaurant. Night at the hotel*****.
Day ( 07 ) Tripoli hotel / Tripoli
airport
Transfer to the airport. End of service.
