Day ( 02 )
Zliten / Leptis Magna / Zliten
Full day exploring the wonderful site of the Roman City
of Leptis Magna including a visit to the excellent
museum. The highlight of any visit to Libya is to see
Leptis Magna, now known as Libda. Originally a
Phoenician port, settled during the 1 st millennium BC,
Leptis became a city under Roman domination in the 3rd
century AD, under the Roman Emperor Septimius Severus,
born in Leptis Magna, it flourished and grow as one of
the most important city of the Roman Empire. We will see
the vast site including the Triumphal Arch, the huge
Basilica, the Forum, Public Baths, the Market, the
Theatre, the Harbour, the Circus, and Amphitheatre, etc.

Day ( 03 ) Zliten / Ghirza / Zliten
Morning departure to visit Ghirza; a city founded in the
3rd century AD, in the predesert area and was a part of
the defensive system of the Roman Empire the so-called
limes Tripolitanus. Picnic lunch near the site.

Day ( 04 )
Zliten / Sabrata / Tripoli
Morning departure to the extensive ruins of the Roman
city of Sabrata. First settled by the Phoenicians as a
trading post, it was transformed in a city by Romans and
built during the 1 st and 2 nd centuries AD .The site
offers a majestic collection of public and private
buildings, the forum, the temples of Liber Pater,
Serapis, Isis, Hercules, many baths, etc. The most
outstanding monument at Sabrata is the theatre,
beautifully restored.

Day ( 05 )
Tripoli
Full day in the Tripoli including a visit to the
excellent national museum, the old city, the souk,
Islamic quarters and the arch of Marcus Aurelius.
Tripoli – Oea – the bride of the Mediterranean is
the capital of Libya. It was founded by the Phoenicians
in 1000 B.C. and was later conquered by the Romans.
Lunch in a local restaurant in the city.
The after noon is a free for independent exploration.
Dinner at a city restaurant. Night at the hotel*****.

Tripoli hotel / Tripoli airport
Transfer to the airport. End of service.
