Hotel
Allamanda – Mahé Island
Hotel
Allamanda is a plantation-style
hotel that is set on Anse Forbans,
one of the loveliest beaches in
southern Mahé. Ten spacious,
comfortable rooms have sea views and
all amenities. The hotel is perfect
for guests seeking the tranquillity
of south Mahé and a pleasant family
atmosphere instead of a large hotel
complex. There is a beachside bar
and restaurant. The main restaurant
serves an excellent Creole and
international menu and overlooks the
beach. With its welcoming family
atmosphere, the Allamanda is a good
base for exploring Mahé. Please
note that swimming and snorkelling
are according to the tides.
Vallée
de Mai
is a famous World Heritage Site that
should not be missed here. It’s
easy to walk through, is rich in
tropical forest and is home to the
endemic Seychelles Black Parrot and
the world’s largest nut, the coco
de mer.
Maison
Des Palmes
Scattered
thatched roofed cottages in palm
studded gardens lie on the edge of
Grand Anse beach, where the hotel
epitomises the small hotels of the
Seychelles. Quiet, cosy and
certainly laid-back with a creole
flavour.
Each
of the 24 well-equipped guest rooms
are decorated in tropical
Seychellois style and have fans,
shower, WC, tea & coffee
facilities, mini-bar, telephone,
hairdryer and veranda.
The
hotel has a bar, swimming pool,
tennis court and complimentary
windsurfing and sailing. There is
also free daily transport to Cote
D’Or beach as well as the hotel
being able to arrange its own
tailored excursions to the
surrounding islands with picnics and
snorkelling trips.
Paradise
Flycatcher’s Lodge
Just
across the road, opposite Anse
Reunion beach and close to L’Union
Estate lie the four very spacious
chalets of Paradise Flycatcher’s,
each with two independent bedrooms
but sharing common dining room and
kitchen.
Each
room has fans, shower, WC, mini
fridge and veranda. There is also an
excellent restaurant here. The
transfer time from Praslin by ferry
to La Digue and then road, is
approximately 40mins.
