 The
Tembo has been split into three
different safaris that follow the
same route as the Kifaru itinerary,
except they offer a final night in
Arusha. Here, guests will visit
N'giresi Cultural Village to
interact with the Wa-Arusha tribe,
including farmers, visiting a school
and perhaps a boma. Accommodation
varies slightly in style and cost,
however, the locations are excellent
bases in which to explore the
national parks.
Day 1
Arusha - Ngorongoro Crater
(approximately 4½ hours)
Depart
Arusha after lunch and drive across
the Masai Steppe to the Great Rift
Valley. The road then winds up the
escarpment to the rim of the Crater.
Overnight at Ngorongoro Serena Lodge on a half board
basis.
Day 2
Ngorongoro Crater
After
an early breakfast you descend into
the Crater by 4x4 vehicle for a full
day of game viewing with a picnic
lunch enjoyed on the Crater floor.
Return to the lodge late afternoon.

Day 3
Ngorongoro Crater - Serengeti
National Park (approximately 5
hours)
Depart
after breakfast and drive to the
Serengeti stopping off at Olduvai en
route. The Gorge is about 50km long
and in some places 90m deep. After
lunch, the remainder of the day is
on a game drive.
Overnight at Serengeti Serena Lodge on a full board
basis.
Day 4
Serengeti National Park
Morning
and afternoon game drives.

Day 5
Serengeti - Lake Manyara
(approximately 6 hours)
Depart
after breakfast for Lake Manyara,
arriving in time for lunch. The
remainder of the day is on a game
drive.
Overnight at Lake
Manyara Serena
on a half board basis.
Day 6
Lake Manyara – Lake Duluti
(approximately 3½ hours)
Depart
after breakfast and drive across the
Masai Steppe back to Arusha aiming
to arrive around midday.
In the afternoon you
visit the Cultural Village of
Ng'iresi situated 7 kilometres out
of Arusha on the steep green slopes
of Mount Meru. The inhabitants of
the village are mostly farmers of
the Wa - arusha tribe, who are
related to the Masai, but have
gradually shifted from pastoralism
to agriculture. This is a
fascinating afternoons excursion.

7
After
breakfast you are transferred to the
centre of Arusha for onward
arrangements.
