 Comprehensive
but leisurely, the Northern
Sojourn ventures through the
game-rich North. It combines
Olduvai Gorge, Olmoti, and
the Ngurdoto Craters, the
unique cultural experience
of N'giresi Village and a
flight back to Arusha after
the safari.
The
Sopa Lodges used on this
safari are located in some
of the national parks' most
sought after locations. This
makes game viewing from the
lodge possible, so being in
the lodge can often be as
exciting as on a game drive.
The
itinerary may also operate
in reverse.

Day 1
Lake Duluti
Upon
arrival, you will be met and
transferred through the scenic
coffee plantations to Mountain
Village, set on the hill overlooking
Lake Duluti. Rest of day at leisure.
Overnight at Mountain Village on a bed and breakfast
basis.
Day 2
Lake Duluti
Today,
we’ll depart after breakfast with
a picnic lunch and head to Arusha
National Park, Momella Lakes and
Ngurdoto Crater. Then later, hike
around the foothills of Mt Meru with
an armed escort. It’s a great day
out and an excellent start to this
adventurous safari.

Day 3
Lake Duluti - Tarangire
National Park
(approximately 3 hours)
After
breakfast, we’ll visit the
Cultural Village of Ng'iresi
situated 7 kilometres out of Arusha
on the steep green slopes of Mount
Meru. The inhabitants of the village
are mostly farmers of the Wa -
arusha tribe, who are related to the
Masai, but have gradually shifted
from pastoralism to agriculture.
This is a fascinating excursion and
gives an excellent insight to rural
Tanzania. After lunch, departure to
Tarangire, with game viewing en
route.

Day 4
Tarangire National Park
Morning
and afternoon game drives.

Day 5
Tarangire - Lake Manyara
(approximately 3½ hours)
Depart
after breakfast for Lake Manyara,
arriving in time for lunch. The
remainder of the day is on a game
drive in
Lake
Manyara National Park.

Day 6
Lake Manyara - Ngorongoro
Crater (approximately 2 hours)
After
breakfast, there is a gentle walk
around the rim of the Great Rift
Valley, escorted by a Masai guide
who is also a qualified naturalist.
He will explain some of the Masai
culture and customs, as well as the
various flora and fauna, including
information on Masai medicines taken
from plants and trees. You then
leave Manyara and drive through the
highlands to Ngorongoro.

Day 7 Ngorongoro Crater
After
an early breakfast you descend into
the Crater for a full day of game
viewing with a picnic lunch enjoyed
on the Crater floor. Late afternoon
you leave the Crater and drive back
to the lodge for the evening.

Day 8 Ngorongoro Crater
After
an early breakfast we head out again
for a full day’s excursion with a
picnic lunch. Today we visit Olmoti
Crater and a Masai Village. It’s a
fun day out: walking and exploring
the crater as well as much
interaction with the Masaai
warriors, women and their
children.

Day 9
Ngorongoro Crater - Serengeti
National Park (approximately 5
hours)
Depart
after breakfast and drive to the
Serengeti stopping off at Olduvai en
route. The Gorge is about 50km long
and in some places 90m deep. After
lunch, the remainder of the day is
on a game drive.

Day 10 Serengeti
National Park
Morning
and afternoon game drives.

Serengeti - Arusha
After
breakfast, you’ll transfer to the
runway for the scheduled flight to
Arusha (approximately one hour).
Upon arrival, you’ll be met and
transferred for onward arrangements.

for the low season rates tour must
start and finish within the
specified dates. If any brochure
safari starts in low season and ends
