Day
1:
On
arrival at Victoria Falls Airport,
you will be met and transferred to
Ilala Lodge for overnight
accommodation on a bed and breakfast
basis.
Ilala
Lodge is the closest hotel to
the Victoria Falls and is located
next to the Zambezi National Park.
It is a small intimate hotel
that ensures a special, personalised
atmosphere.
Each room has air
conditioning, and an en suite
bathroom.
There is a pool, bar and a
charming restaurant that offers both
indoor and outdoor seating.
Days
2, 3 & 4:
Transfer
from Ilala Lodge back to Victoria
Falls Airport for your light
aircraft transfer to Little
Makalolo Camp in Hwange for three
nights accommodation on a full board
basis including daily activities and
all local drinks.
Little
Makalolo is a comfortable
five-roomed tented camp in the heart
of Hwange National Park, in one of
its best game viewing areas.
Little Makalolo is one of the
few camps located within the park,
and offers privacy for guests who
enjoy small camps and a sense of
remoteness. The comfortable tented
rooms each have en-suite facilities,
including a flush toilet, and shower
with hot and cold running water –
as well as an outdoor shower under
the stars!
The main living area is under
canvas and houses the dining room,
lounge and pub, and there is a small
plunge pool. The camp overlooks a
small waterhole and there is a tree
house hide where guests can enjoy
game viewing during the “siesta”
hours. Activities at Little Makalolo
centre on game viewing in open 4x4
Land Rovers throughout the Makalolo
concession area, as well as walks
with armed guides. The area is
ecologically diverse, ensuring a
varied food “pantry”, which
feeds great numbers of animals year
round. Makalolo is one of the best
areas for predators, Buffalo and
Elephant, all featuring regularly in
the experience.
Days
5, 6 & 7:
Light
aircraft transfer from Little
Makalolo to Lake Kariba where you
will be met and transferred by road
and boat to Matusadona Water
Wilderness for three nights
accommodation on a full board basis
including daily activities and all
local drinks.
Matusadona
Water Wilderness is a floating
safari camp situated just off the
shoreline of Lake Kariba, within
Matusadona National Park in northern
Zimbabwe. The camp consists of
unique floating chalets, moored in a
secluded bay. Accommodation is in
twin bedded rooms each with en-suite
flush toilet and shower. Each of the
chalets has its own cool verandah
with a superb view of the park. Game
is often seen from the rooms. The
mother craft houses the central bar,
lounge and dining area. Access
between the chalets and the main
area is by pontoon. Game viewing is
excellent in this area, where the
fluctuating lake levels have
resulted in a grassland around the
lake shore, which attracts large
herds of antelope, Elephant, Buffalo
and a host of predators. Black Rhino
are found in the forested areas.
Boating, canoeing, game drives in
4x4 vehicles and walking with a
licensed guide, gives guests the
complete wildlife experience of the
area.
