Day 7 Madras
Sightseeing Tour of Madras- visit the National Art Gallery & Museum, Fort St. George-was built from about 1653 by the British East India Company, it presently houses the Secretariat and the Legislative Assembly. The Fort Museum-has a fascinating collection of memorabilia from the days of the East India Company and the British Raj, drive along the Marina, Mylapore Temple. Day 8 Madras- Pondicherry
Proceed by road to Pondicherry-lies amid flat scrubland, dotted with low thatched huts, tall palmyra palms, bamboo, casuarina and tamarind trees. En route you will pass through small villages and have a chance to see the lifestyle of the locals. On arrival transfer to your hotel. Rest of the day free to stroll through the safe and friendly streets of Pondicherry. (B)
Day 9 Pondicherry

Day 10 Pondicherry -Trichy
Drive to Trichy today-a historical town and for a period the capital of the Chola rulers. Transfer to your hotel. (B)
Day 11 Trichy -Madurai
Morning City Tour of Trichy- visit the Rock Fort Temple, a spectacular monument perched on a massive rocky outcrop which rises abruptly from the plain to tower over the old city. A fine view of the city can be had from the fort. And Mathurubhutheswar Shrine and other temples. In the afternoon transfer to Madurai on road. Day 12 Madurai
City Tour of Madurai-visit to the World Famous Meenakshi Temple- believed to have 33 million sculptures. The most striking aspect are the four corner gopurams. Then visit the Palace of Thirumalai Nayak, the most famous king of the Nayak dynasty. Fit has a great audience hall, a three-sided pavilion and a courtyard. Overnight at your hotel. (B)
Day 13 Madurai- Periyar
Proceed to Periyar Wildlife sanctuary which became a part of the Project Tiger in 1979. It houses 260 species of animals and birds. Afternoon game viewing at the wildlife sanctuary and a boat ride on the Lake Periyar. Overnight at your hotel. (B)
Day 14 Periyar- Cochin
Continue your South India exploration and proceed to the State of Kerela en route stopping at Kovalam. On arrival in Cochin transfer to the hotel. Rest of the day at leisure to relax or browse through a local spice market. (B)
Day 15 Cochin
Ride the motor boat on the enchanting backwaters of Cochin. City Tour of Cochin-visit the Mattancherry Dutch Palace, which was built by the Portuguese in 1555 and renovated by the Dutch in 1663. In the ancient rooms are 17th century murals that relate in vibrant colors the story of the epic Ramayana. Visit a Jewish Synagogue in Jew Town and Fort Cochin Area-legend dates Jewish trade with Ketala from the times of King Solomen. Francis Church-the oldest European Church in India. It has several antiquities including a wealth of land records. These include a palm-leaf title deed the local Raja gave the Portuguese in 1503. Overnight at your hotel. (B)

Fly from Cochin to Madras. On arrival connect to the international flight. (B)
