General
Information:
Northern Thailand has a cool climate
during the wintertime. It offers
mountainous regions that form the
Pre-Himalayan Mountain range, with summits
up to 2500 meters. A large variety of
ethnic villages and people. Some beautiful
jungle. A quantity of little used dirt
roads and trails transform this area in a
biker's paradise! Come and ride along with
us to discover the mountains of Northern
Thailand.
Climate:
Best months are definitely November to
February (coolest months). September and
October can be muddy... Challenging and
fun to ride for sure! From March to June
can be quite hot and dry... around 40ฐC
in the day... sometime, getting some
refreshing rainstorm. July and August is
the raining season and we usually do not
run regular bike trips. We might have to
slightly modify itinerary and cycle more
on paved roads and longer boat transfer on
the scenic Maekok river. Cycling can be
fun, since generally it never rain all
day. Mostly short strong shower, and sun
again!
Material:
We provide well maintained and good
quality Shimano equipped Mountain Bike. We
carry a range of different bikes, mostly
21 speed Shimano STX with front
suspension. Spare parts and tools are
taken along with our escort vehicle. We

selected Hotels, usually blinding Northern
Thai style with comfort. (Refer to your

in a hilltribe village. Food is taken at
local restaurant or hotel. Nutrition is
important when cycling. Main meals are
composed with rice. There is always enough
food and we eat lots of fruits and
vegetables. Drinking water, fruits and
snacks are always available in our escort
vehicle. Other drinks are not included in
the price, but widely available at local
restaurants and shops along the way.
What to bring? Recommended personal
equipment:
Gloves, sunglasses. A pair of
mountain-biking shoes, or running /
cross-country shoes (hard-soles reduce
foot fatigue). Bicycle short and gear (if
you do not have padded cycling shorts, we
recommend a light cotton short, elastic
belted). We require participants to wear a
helmet. In case you bring it, we can fit
on our bike your SPD shoes and pedals.

Long sleeve sweater or jogging suit,
windbreaker. T-shirts. All of this packed
in a soft bag that we take in the escort
vehicle. Pullover for winter season, and
light nylon rain-jacket (K-way type) for
raining season. A small back-pack would be
practical to carry small personal items as
camera, etc…For most of the trips, large
suitcases can be deposited in Chiang Mai
(hotel or our office).
