02 Bangkok
- Ayutthaya - Lopburi (B/L/-)
Set
off your journey on board of the
tastefully restored rice-barge Manohra.
Enjoy your breakfast while the boat trip
will take you slowly out of the bustling
city, passing splendid temples and
allowing you an unforgettable insight into
rural life along the riverbanks of the
Chao Praya River.
In Pak Kret you will board the Deluxe
Coach to continue the journey via Bang Pa
In, where you will briefly visit the
magnificent Summer Palace, to Ayutthaya.
Relax in the comfortable leather seats and
enjoy a nice cup of tea of coffee, which
will be served to you on board.
In Ayutthaya you will visit the most
important temples of this former capital
of the Siam Kingdom. (The tour will take
around 1hour 15minutes).
Proceed through Thailand's central plains
to Wat Phra Buddhabat (15 km northeast of
Saraburi) where you will get a first
insight into Thailand's Buddhist culture.
In the evening arrival in Lopburi, a small
town with an amazing history.

03 Lopburi
- Nakhon Sawan - Kampheng Phet - Tak
(B/L/-)
The
many temples and historic sites of the
kingdoms' different periods bear witness
to Lopburi's ancient history. We will
focus on the visit of the Narai Raja-Niwet
Palace, which is situated in the town
center.
Later the trip will continue through the
endless plains of Chao Phraya to Nakhon
Sawan where four side rivers unite as Chao
Phraya River.
Further the journey takes you northwest to
Kampheng Phet, formerly known as an
important front line of defense for the
Sukhothai and Ayutthaya Kingdom. The
UNESCO has promoted this ancient city with
its wooden houses as "World Heritage
Site".
Leaving Kampheng Phet you will drive up
north to the small town Tak, which is
located at the junction of two former
trading routes during the Kingdom of Siam.
Tourism has rarely touched this small
province town.

04 Tak
- Lampang - Lamphun - Chiang Mai (B/L/-)
As you
continue towards the north you will notice
a gradual change of the landscape. The
northern provinces are known as the most
fascinating regions for their broad lavish
valleys as well as their impressive
mountain ranges. The road via Thoen takes
us to Lampang where you will have the
opportunity to visit one of the most
beautiful and most famous temples in
northern Thailand: Wat Phra That Lampang
Luang. The eventful history of this over
1000-year-old temple can be discovered in
many details.
Proceed through a government owned
Elephant Conservation Center to Lamphun.
There you will visit Wat Phra That
Haripunchai which is located in the center
and is one of the most important Buddhist
temples in the whole northern Thailand.
There you will be able to witness the wide
diversity of daily work and routine. From
here it is a short drive to Chiang Mai,
the country's second biggest city.

05 Chiang
Mai (Pearl of the North) (B/L/-)
Enjoy
a sightseeing tour in the old and new part
of Chiang Mai and get to know the
diversity of this fascinating city.
Afterwards drive up the steep mountain to
visit the famous hilltop temple complex
Wat Soi Suthep with a spectacular
panoramic view of Chiang Mai.
Chiang Mai is well known and famous for
its various handicraft centers, which you
will be visiting in the afternoon. You can
closely witness the manufacturing of
lacquerware, hand-painted umbrellas,
woodcarving and silk weaving.
Yet another highlight is waiting for you
in the evening: Explore the unique night
market, one of the most popular shopping
places in Chiang Mai and enjoy the lively
atmosphere.

06 Chiang
Mai - Thatorn - Golden Triangle (B/L/-)
As the
journey takes you further up north where
you will come by a green plain and pass by
fields cultivated with much care until you
reach the small market place Mae Rim. A
short stop will allow you to view the
orchid and butterfly farm.
Just before Ching Dao visit of a quietly
located elephant camp where old as well as
young elephants are kept in their natural
environment.
Towards the Burmese border the scenery
gets hillier and more varied. In Thaton,
which is located picturesquely on the Mae
Kok River the local market gives an
interesting impression of daily life in
north Thailand. Along beautiful valleys,
passing by Lisu and Akha hilltribes the
tour continues via Mae Chan to Chiang Saen.
This eventful day will end with a visit of
Wat Chedi Luang.

Golden Triangle.

Monday
Day 07 Golden Triangle (B/L/D)
In
the morning you will be picked up by a
minibus. First visit of the day will be
the busy small border town Mae Sai,
directly located at the Burmese border
where many Burmese meet to trade on Thai
soil.
On the way back to the Golden Triangle
take a ride up the mountain to visit Wat
Phra That Chom Kitti. On a clear and sunny
day there is a magnificent view over
Chiang Saeng and the Mekong River up until
Laos.
In the afternoon you can relax during an
interesting boat ride on the mighty Mekong
River. A fascinating scenery full of life
will present itself to you on the river as
well as along the riverbanks. An
experience you will memorize for a long
time.
Overnight and farewell dinner at the Le
Meridien Baan Boran, Golden Triangle.

08 Chiang
Rai - Bangkok (B/-/-)
After
breakfast transfer to Chiang Rai Airport
and return by Thai Airways flight in
Business Class (approximate flight time is
1h15) to Bangkok, where you will arrive in
the afternoon.
