01 CHIANG
KHONG - HOUEIXAI (B/L/-)
Arrival
Houeixai from Chiangkhong ( Thailand ) ,
visit the surrounding of Houeixai, Ban
Namkeung about 26 kms from the town, you
will discover the traditional lifestyle of
Lu minority people. They came from South
China for long time ago and formed the
community. Their house on stills is an
identifiable characteristic of Lu who like
to live near the river. The high space
below, the main house not only prevents
flooding, it is also used for storing
fish, household tools and other equipment.
Most houses will be built facing the
temple of the village as a sign of respect
of Lord Buddha. The lucrative occupation
in Houiexai is gold panning and digging
for precious stones where you can see at
Ban Namkhok about 6 kms from the town.
Lunch. For souvenir you can buy sapphirs
or precious stones either in the main
street or at the shops.

HOUEIXAI-PAKBENG
(B/L/D)
Breakfast

Take traditional boat downstream to
Pakbeng, through this Mekong portion which
is not too large, the both bank of Mekong
are very beautiful by mountainous range
and green forests. As the two banks of
Mekong belong to Laos, it is very easy to
navigate and stopover can be done at the
both sides. Visit Ban Houeilampen, Hmong
minority village with 50 fimilies where
unique traditions are still preserved,
women are in traditional clothes with
black cotton grown sport colorful wooly
boa collars that like fur. With the front
panels of their tops tied up, you catch a
glimpse of their delicate hand embroidered
trousers. Men, however maintain their
simple means of dress. Then re-embark and
stream up on Mekong River for the second
leg toward Houeixai. Some stopover will be
done to observe the rural life along
Mekong River. Picnic lunch is served on
board. Boating through this portion, you
will admire the most beautiful scenery
along the both sides of Mekong as well as
during dry season, several rocks appear.

PAKBENG
– LUANG PRABANG (B/L/D)
Breakfast

In the morning the visit the morning
market of Pakbeng. Then take the
traditional boat trip for the second leg
downstream to Luang Prabang. Arrive Pak Ou
and visiting the caves. It housed thousand
Buddha images that have been placed since
16th century. The caves were found by King
Setthathirat and people continuely bring
Buddha images. Picnic lunch at Pakou
cottage.
Arrive Luang Prabang. The crown jewel of
Laos and former Lanexang, Luang Prabang is
perharps the best preserved traditional
city in Southeast Asia. It is as sleepy
town which has preserved its long
–standing reputation as a stronghold of
Lao cultures with its splendid natural
scenery and sense of timelessness. Magical
and charming, Luang Prabang is the
destinationa that every traveller has to
see once in their life time. During 1995
Luang Prabang was voted by UNESCO as a
world heritage city

LUANG
PRABANG (B/L/D)
Breakfast

Visit Vat Visoun, the site of most
impressive stupa. That Makmo with a
rounded dome stylistically more
Silankalese than Lao. Walk for a step to
Vat Aham which was a city's major tutelary
shrine,dedicated to Deveta Luang (spirit)
Pu Gneu Ya Gneu (ancestors). Vat Phousi
hill for overlooking the city.The temples
on the slopes of Phusi are all of rather
recently constructed located at the summit
of the sacred hill. Phusi is reached by
350 steps. There are the excellent views
of the town from the top of the hill.
Continue to visit Vat Mai, built in 1796,
the five -tiered roof of the wooden Sim in
the standard of Luang Prabang style, visit
Vat Xieng Thong, the most beautiful
temple, the Sim of the Vat represents the
classic Luang Prabang temple architecture
with roofs that sweep low to the ground.
The rear wall of the Sim features an
impressive "tree of life" mosaic
set in red background. Inside richly
decorated wooden column support a ceiling
vested with
Dharma -wheels. In the compound stand
several small chapels housing bronze
Buddha image which was displayed in Paris
in 1911. Near the compound east's gate
stands the royal Inside is an impressive
12 meters high funeral chariot and various
funeral urns of each royal family member,
funeral chapel. The gilt panel on the
exterior of chapel depicts semi-erotic
episode from Ramayana.
Lunch .
Visit Ban Phanom, the weaving village, Ban
Hatkong, paper village at the end seeing
sunset at Vat Siphouthabath. Return to
hotel.

LUANG
PRABANG - BANGKOK (B/L/-)
Breakfast
at hotel
Visit National Museum (former king's
palace), displaying a lovely collection of
personal
artifacts of royal family, photos, musical
equipment and gifts that received from
foreign countries central market and a
silver smith's. Then transfer to the
airport
Depart Luang Prabang by PG 631 for
Bangkok.
