Day 1            Departure Canada

Your exotic journey to the Far East begins as you depart Canada aboard your flight to Shanghai.

Day 2   Arrive Shanghai

Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel.  Rest of the day at free.  Overnight at your hotel.

Day 3            Shanghai – Wuxi

This morning, you will be transferred to the train station for your train ride Shanghai-Wuxi (2 hours).  Upon arrival in Wuxi, you will be met and transferred to Hubin Hotel. (B/L)

Day 4   Wuxi- Suzhou

In the morning tour in Wuxi, you will visit the beautiful Tai Lake- is one of the three largest freshwater lakes in China, followed by Li Garden and Huishan Clay Sculpture Factory.  In the afternoon, you will cruise on the ancient Grand Canal (4.5 hours) to the city of Suzhou-a unique city with preserved ancient style house.  Upon arrive Suzhou, you will be met and transferred to Grand Hotel or Suzhou Hotel. Day 5            Suzhou- Hangzhou

This morning, you will have a Suzhou tour-this tour will take you to the Master’s Net Garden, Pan Gate, a Silk Factory.  In the afternoon, you will be transferred to the train station for your train ride Suzhou-Hangzhou (3 hours).  Upon arrive Hangzhou, you will be met and transferred to Wanghu Hotel.   Day 6            Hangzhou

Today’s highlight is a boat ride on the beautiful West Lake, followed by a visit to the Tea Plantation Growing the famous Longjing Green Tea. Overnight at Wanghu Hotel. (B/L)

  Day 7     Yangtze River Cruise:  

 Shanghai to  Yangzhou

Today you will be transferred from Hangzhou back to Shanghai.  And then aboard your deluxe Victoria cruiser and after dinner, sail to Yangzhou. Overnight. (B/D)

  Day 8            Yangtze River Cruise:   Yangzhou to Nanjing

This morning, tour Yangzhou.  Visit scenic man-made Slim West Lake, which dates back to the Tang Dynasty, Ge or He Gardens and the Marco Polo Museum.  Afternoon visit to Nanjing.  Sightsee Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Mausoleum and Provincial Museum.  At night, enjoy the Captain’s cocktail party, followed by a Chinese dinner party.   Day 9        Yangtze River Cruise: Guichi to Huangshan

Disembark at Guichi to visit Huangshan.  Renowned are its “Four Ultimate Beauties”: ancient green pines, the sea of clouds, grotesquely shaped pinnacles of rock, and its hot springs.  Take a gondola three-quarters of the way up the mountain for magnificent vistas. Overnight. (AB/L/D)

  Day 10        Yangtze River Cruise:   Jiujiang to Lushan

Arrive JiuJiang for your excursion to Lushan.  Highlights include the Immortal’s Cave, Dragonhead Rock, the Five Old Men Peaks edging Boyang Lake, and Lushan’s spectacular Kaisian Waterfall. Overnight. (AB/L/D)

 Day 11      Yangtze River Cruise:   Wuhan-Beijing

Arrive in Wuhan early morning.  Then transfer to airport for your flight to Beijing.  Upon arrive in Beijing airport where a local representative will meet you and arrange for your transfer to Peace Hotel or Xingqiao Hotel. (B)

 Day 12      Beijing

Today, a full day tour will take you to the “Eighth Wonder of the World” – the Great Wall which was built 2600 year ago.  In the afternoon, explore the Ming Tombs, starting with the visit to the famous Secret Way.  A visit to a cloisonné Factory will be arranged on the way back to the city.  In the evening, your tour manager will host a Welcoming Peking Duck Dinner. Day 13      Beijing

A full day tour today will take you to the massive Forbidden City- it was built in 17th century with 775,000 square feet as the residence for the several emperors and empresses, also as the place for imperial business during Ming and
Qing dynasties, you can explore the 15the century halls, the pavilions and the imperial treasures, then on to the Temple of Heaven- built in 1420, where the emperors came to pray for a good harvest during the first lunar month each year because of its acoustic architectures and quality: the Summer Palace- which was used by the court as a retreat from the capital’s heat for 800 years. During the Qing Dynasty it became a fashionable royal resort and scene of extravagant celebrations. The Empress Dowager Cixi made it her residence and spent vast amounts of money (much from the state coffers) to create a veritable Xanadu: and Tiananmen Square-as famous as its uses on ceremonial occasions both in the past time and now. Day 14      Back to Canada

Today, you will be transferred to Beijing airport for your flight back to Canada. (B)
