ITINERARY:

JOINING ARRANGEMENTS:
26 and 20 Day passengers to join at Mercure Hotel, Sydney at 8.00 a.m.
23 and 17 Day passengers to join at Mercure Hotel, Brisbane at 10.30 a.m. 

DAY 1 SYDNEY TO COFFS HARBOUR (D):
Departing Sydney at 8.00 a.m, we cross Sydney Harbour Bridge. Joining the Pacific Highway we travel to beautiful Coffs Harbour. Tonight join us for our Welcome Dinner. Accommodation: Coffs Harbour, Novotel Opal Cove Resort.

DAY 2 COFFS HARBOUR, BYRON BAY, QUEENSLAND, LAMINGTON NATIONAL PARK (BD):
Our first stop is at Byron Bay, a beautiful coastal town which also happens to be mainland. Austalia's most easterly point. We then cross the Queensland border to Lamington National Park. Accommodation: Lamington National Park, Binna Burra Lodge (2 nights) in the heart of the park.

DAY 3 LAMINGTON NATIONAL PARK (BLD):
Lamington National Park is a World Heritage Listed wilderness area, and contains Australia's largest remnant of subtropical rain forest. Explore the numerous walking tracks, discovering the diverse vegetation and abundant wildlife.

DAY 4 BRISBANE, HERVEY BAY (B):
Today we make our way into Brisbane, the capital of Queensland. 23 and 17 day passengers to join tour. Enjoy some time for shopping before continuing north to Hervey Bay. Accommodation: Hervey Bay, Kondari Resort (2 nights).

DAY 5 FRASER ISLAND BY 4-WHEEL DRIVE (BL):
This morning we cruise to Fraser island and explore the world's largest sand island in specially designed 4-wheel drive vehicles. Discover the unspoiled surf beaches, pristine inland lakes and tropical rain forest that make this island special.

DAY 6 BUNDABERG, LADY ELLIOT ISLAND (BD):
Heading to Bundaberg we board our flight to beautiful Lady Elliot island, situated on the southern end of the famous Great Barrier Reef. Accommodation: Lady Elliot Island Resort (2 nights), a laid-back eco-orientated getaway.

DAY 7 LADY ELLIOT, GREAT BARRIER REEF (BD):
Enjoy this day of wonders as we discover the colorful marine world of the Great Barrier Reef. Join a cruise in a glass-bottom boat to view life underwater and an informative reef walk.

DAY 8 LADY ELLIOT ISLAND, YEPPOON (B):
Today we cross the Tropic of Capricorn at Rockhampton, 'beef capital' of the north, before continuing to Yeppoon. Accommodation: Yeppoon, Rydges Capricorn Resort, boasting two 18 hole golf courses, as well as swimming pools, tennis courts and 12 miles of unspoiled golden beaches.

DAY 9 YEPPOON TO WHITSUNDAYS (B):
Our next stop is Airlie Beach, gateway to the crystal clear waters of the whitsunday Passage and home to 74 idyllic islands. We cruise to Daydream island. Accommodation: Daydream Island, Daydream Island Resort (2 nights).

TWO NIGHT SAILING OPTION:
Explore the beautiful Whitsundays and spend two nights on a luxurious live aboard yacht, all meals provided. A professional captain will be your guide as you sail, swim and snorkel. Additional US= $190, CDN=$285 (minimum of six people required).

DAY 10 THE WHITSUNDAYS (B):
A day to relax on Daydream Island and enjoy the impressive resort facilities : choose from four restaurants, three swimming pools, two tennis courts, and there's even an open-air cinema.

DAY 11 WHITSUNDAYS TO MISSION BEACH (B):
On to Mission Beach, a region of unspoiled rain forests and sandy beaches. Accommodation: Mission Beach, Castaways on the Beach Resort.

DAY 12 MISSION BEACH TO PORT DOUGLAS (B):
We continue northwards to visit the lush Atherton Tablelands and explore the unique attractions of Millaa Millaa Falls, Curtain Fig Tree and volcanic Lake Barrine. Then its on to the famous resort township of Port Douglas. Accommodation: Port Douglas, Rydges Reef Resort (2 nights).

DAY 13 PORT DOUGLAS (BD):
Relax in North Queensland's famous international tourist destination. Perhaps join an optional day tour to the Daintree National Park or board a Quicksilver Cruise to the Great Barrier Reef.

DAY 14 MOSSMAN GORGE, PAMAGIRRI ABORIGINAL DANCERS, KURANDA, CAIRNS (B):
We start today with a scenic rain forest walk at Mossman Gorge. On to the Pamagirri Aboriginal Dancers set amidst a rain forest amphitheatre. A visit to the Kuranda markets is full of interest before we continue to Cairns. Accommodation: Cairns, Mercure Harbourside Cairns.

DAY 15 CAIRNS, ALICE SPRINGS (BD):
Join a morning flight (not included) to the Red Centre and Alice Springs. Visit the Aboriginal Warlpiri tribe to learn of their hunting techniques and sample traditional bush tucker. Accommodation: Alice Springs, Novotel Alice Springs.

DAY 16 ALICE SPRINGS, ULuru (AYERS ROCK), KATA TJUTA (OLGAS) (B):
We journey across the vast 'Outback' to ULuru (Ayers Rock), crossing some of the oldest river systems in the world. Entering ULuru -Kata Tjuta National Park we visit Kata Tjuta and take the impressive valley of the winds walk. this evening watch the amazing display of changing colors as the sun set across ULuru. Accommodation: Ayers Rock Resort, Outback Pioneer Hotel.

DAY 17 ULuru SUNRISE AND TOUR, ABORIGINAL MYTHOLOGY, KINGS CANYON (B):
An early morning start to view sunrise on ULuru before joining a walking tour of the base of the rock. Learn of the fascinating ancient aboriginal legends before inspecting the visitors centre. A late afternoon drive to Kings Canyon completes our day. Accommodation: Kings Canyon Resort.

DAY 18 KINGS CANYON RIDGE WALK,'GARDEN OF EDEN' , ORMISTON GORGE, GLEN HELEN (BD):
A Spectacular ridge walk at Kings Canyon is a highlight of our 'Outback' visit. The colors on the sheer sandstone cliff faces are indeed impressive, and the lush vegetation in the 'Garden of Eden' and 'Lost City' make a fascinating contrast. Then we head to the remote beauty of Ormiston Gorge. Accommodation: Glen Helen Homestead.

DAY 19 GLEN HELEN, ALICE SPRINGS (B):
Take in the grandeur of the West MacDonnell Ranges and visit Ellery Creek Big Hole and Standley Chasm. Then into Alice Springs and visit the unique Royal Flying Doctor Base. Accommodation: Alice Springs, Novotel Alice Springs.

DAY 20 KARLWEKARLWE, TENNANT CREEK (BD):
20 and 17 Day passengers depart after breakfast. This morning there's time to join an optional hot air balloon flight before we head via Karlwekarlwe (Devils Marbles) to the old gold mining town of  Tennant Creek. Accommodation: Tennant Creek, Eldorado Motor Inn, crossroads of the 'Outback'.

DAY 21 TENNANT CREEK, KATHERINE (BD):
A stop at the old Daly Waters Pub offers a great chance to meet with the locals. Then we continue to the thermal waters of Mataranka, a welcome oasis for weary travelers. Accommodation: Katherine, Mercure Inn Katherine (2 nights).

DAY 22 KATHERINE GORGE (B):
We enter nearby Nitmiluk National Park to explore Katherine Gorge, via canoe safari or a leisurely cruise. Time for a bushwalk, then visit Edith Falls.

DAY 23 KATHERINE, KAKADU NATIONAL PARK (B):
A short drive today takes us to World Heritage Kakadu National Park. Our first stop is at Gunlom waterhole, a great swimming spot complete with its own waterfall. Then to Yellow Water for an interesting guided wildlife cruise. Accommodation: Cooinda, Gagudju Lodge Cooinda Motel.

DAY 24 KAKADU NATIONAL PARK (B):
To Arnhem Land as guests of the Manilakarr people. Our 4-wheel drive journey is full of intrest. We'll learn of traditional land ownership, witness bush skills and food gathering techniques. Later we visit Ubirr and Nourlangie Rock to view age-old Aboriginal rock art. Accommodation: Kakadu National Park, Kakadu Resort.
Note: The 4-wheel drive excursion to Arnhem Land is not available on summer departures due to seasonal conditions.

DAY 25 KAKADU NATIONAL PARK TO DARWIN (BD):
Leaving Kakadu National Park, we visit 'Window on the Wetlands' for an insight into the fauna and wildlife that inhabit the floodplains. Explore Territory Wildlife Park. Tonight enjoy our Farewell Dinner. Accommodation: Holiday Inn Darwin.

DAY 26 LITCHFIELD NATIONAL PARK (B):
We journey to Litchfield National Park and discover stunning sandstone formations, unusual termite mounds and towering waterfalls. Our adventure ends on arrival in Darwin at 5.30 p.m.
