Arrive Launceston
You will be met on
arrival at Launceston Airport by your AAT
Kings Tour Director and transferred to your
hotel (flights to arrive prior to 1.00pm).
Enjoy a city tour of Launceston, before
travelling to Rosevears Estate, set on
a hillside overlooking the grape growing
district of the Tamar Valley. Enjoy a guided
tour around the winery, before sampling
local wines accompanied by Tasmanian cheeses.
Tonight enjoy a welcome drink with your
Tour Director and fellow travelling
companions.

Day 2 Mon:
Kunnara Kunna
Travel this
morning across the Batman Bridge to George
Town. Stop at The Grove, a National
Trust restoration and one of the earliest
homes in Tasmania. Continue through rainforest
and enjoy the scenery around Weldborough
Pass.
Travel to St. Helens, once known as Kunnara
Kunna. Hear the history of this region,
how the Aboriginal people hunted and tribes
were organised. Visit the Bridestowe
Lavender Farm (early December to early
February).

Day 3 Tue:
Freycinet
Journey along the
beautiful East Coast to Freycinet National
Park for a Ranger guided walk.
Continue south to cross the Tasman
Peninsula to Port Arthur.

Day 4 Wed: Port
Arthur
This morning visit
the Port Arthur Historic Site,
Australia's most infamous prison during the
convict era. Join a guided walking tour of
the grounds and ruins, followed by a
cruise around the Isle of the Dead.
This afternoon visit the spectacular natural
coastal formations of Tasman's Arch, Devils
Kitchen and The Blowhole. This
evening an optional lantern-lit walking Ghost
Tour of the prison ruins is available. (B)
Day 5 Thu:
Hobart
Cross Eaglehawk
Neck this morning and continue to the
lovely old village of Richmond, which
boasts Australia's oldest bridge, built in
1823. Visit the Cadbury Chocolate Factory
for a guided tour and plenty of samples along
the way! (Factory tours are sometimes not
available. On these occasions visit the Sorell
Fruit Farm). Enjoy some free time this
afternoon in Hobart.

Day 6 Fri: Huon
Valley
This morning enjoy
an orientation tour of the harbour
capital visiting the Botanic Gardens, Battery
Point, Salamanca Place and
Constitution Dock. Travel to the summit of
Mt. Nelson for magnificent views over the
city and Derwent River. Continue through the
rolling green hills of the Huon Valley
to the Tahune Forest AirWalk, a
spectacular treetops walkway. Travel to
Geeveston to visit the Forest and Heritage
Centre where you will observe the resident
wood turner at work. (B)
Day 7 Sat:
Russell Falls
Follow the Derwent
Valley to the beautiful New Norfolk hop
growing district. Continue to Mt. Field
National Park to inspect the Visitor
Centre, before walking through the
rainforest to Russell Falls. Travel to Lake
St. Clair in the Cradle Mountain-Lake St.
Clair National Park. View wild mountain
scenery, before crossing the Franklin River
and continuing through the mining township of Queenstown
to Strahan.

Day 8 Sun:
Gordon River Cruise
This morning board
your cruise across Macquarie Harbour
into the reflective waters of the Gordon
River. At Heritage Landing stroll through
World Heritage Listed rainforest and visit the
ruins of the brutal penal colony on Sarah
Island. This afternoon is at leisure.
Perhaps travel on the ABT Wilderness Railway
or take a thrilling jet boat ride. (B) •••
Day 9 Mon:
Cradle Mountain
Depart Strahan
this morning and travel through the mining
town of Rosebery into Cradle Mountain
National Park. View Lake Dove and
the jagged peaks of Cradle Mountain.
This evening stay at the newest hotel in the
Cradle Mountain-Lake St. Clair region.
Adjacent to the hotel is the Australian
National Wilderness and Landscape Gallery.

Day 10 Tue: The
Nut – Stanley
This morning wind
through the rainforest that encases Hellyer
Gorge State Reserve. Visit the massive
promontory known as The Nut, which
dominates the picturesque fishing village of Stanley.
This afternoon at Allendale Gardens
there is time to stroll through the privately
owned gardens.

Day 11 Wed:
Sheffield
Travel along the
scenic north-west coast to Table Cape
and through the seaside towns of Penguin
and Ulverstone. Travel to Sheffield,
the so-called town of murals, where the towns
buildings are adorned with remarkable wall
paintings. Visit the Ashgrove Farm cheese
factory to see the production process,
before taste testing the finished product.
Continue
to Deloraine to meet your Aboriginal host for
the Jahadi Aboriginal Experience. You
will be welcomed to the area with a traditional
smoking ceremony, followed by a dance
performance. Enjoy damper, bush tucker
and billy tea, before travelling to the
riverside city of Launceston.

Depart Launceston
This morning visit
Cataract Gorge after breakfast before
your tour concludes. You will be
transferred to Launceston Airport to connect
