Day 1: Arrive
Christchurch
You will be met on
arrival at Christchurch Airport and
transferred to your hotel (flights anytime,
airfare not included). The remainder of the
day is at leisure for you to explore Christchurch,
the largest city on the South Island. Known as
the 'Garden City', Christchurch has an
abundance of beautiful parks and gardens for
you to explore.

Day 2: Mt. Cook
- Queenstown
Travel south over
the colourful, patchwork plains of Canterbury
via Lake Tekapo and view the Church
of the Good Shepherd. Continue to Mt.
Cook National Park, home of New
Zealand's highest mountain. There is the
opportunity for a spectacular optional scenic
flight, before travelling to Queenstown,
on the shores of Lake Wakatipu.

Day 3: Milford
Sound
Travel to Te Anau,
gateway to the Fiordland National Park,
then through the Homer Tunnel to
spectacular Milford Sound. Join your
cruise on this majestic fiord, cruise on the
waters of this natural wonder, with Bowen
Falls and Mitre Peak standing high
above you (weather permitting). Return to
Queenstown. (BL)
Day 4:
Queenstown at leisure
Today is at
leisure to enjoy the many activities that
Queenstown has to offer. Perhaps take an
optional jet boat ride, try your hand at
whitewater rafting or ride the Skyline Gondola
to Bob's Peak for spectacular views of
Queenstown and Lake Wakatipu. This evening you
may like to join the T.S.S Earnslaw and
journey across Lake Wakatipu to Walter Peak, a
high country Sheep station. Here you can enjoy
a sumptuous carvery dinner in the Colonel's
Homestead and some friendly Kiwi hospitality.
Alternatively, there are many local
restaurants to choose from. (B)
Day 5:
Queenstown - Franz Josef
Travel north and
enjoy the rugged West Coast scenery. Journey
through the Haast Pass. Continue on to
spectacular Franz Josef, with towering
mountains on your right and mighty Tasman Sea
on your left.
Accommodation:
Punga Grove Motor Lodge (standard) or Franz
Josef Glacier Hotel (first class and deluxe),
Franz Josef, 2 nights. (B)
Day 6: Franz
Josef at leisure
Today is at
leisure. Perhaps take an optional helicopter
flight over the Franz Josef and Fox Glaciers
or a guided glacier walk. (B)
Day 7:
Christchurch
Today travel to
Greymouth and board the TranzAlpine train,
for a journey famous for its mountain scenery,
as the train traverses the Southern Alps. Arrive
at your Christchurch hotel at approximately
7.00pm. (B)
