Day 1 Tue: Arrive Cairns
You will be met on arrival at Cairns Airport and transferred to Port Douglas (flights to arrive prior to 1.00pm). Join your Tour Director for a tour of Port Douglas. Enjoy the rest of the afternoon at leisure. Tonight enjoy a welcome drink with your fellow travelling Companions, followed by an exclusive dinner in the unique Tree House Restaurants.

Day 2 Wed: Great Barrier Reef Cruise
Transfer to Marina Mirage to board the famous Quicksilver wave-piercing catamaran. Cruise out to Agincourt Reef, on the very edge of the Great Barrier Reef. Take a fascinating journey and view magnificent coral and sealife through the windows of a sub-sea vessel. Opportunity to swim and snorkel over the reef (equipment provided). A lavish tropical buffet lunch is also included today. (BL)

Day 3 Thu: Port Douglas - Cairns
This morning relax by the pool or visit the resort town of Port Douglas, before traveling via Palm Cove to the tropical city of Cairns. Afternoon at leisure.

Day 4 Fri: Kuranda - Tjapukai
Join the Kuranda Train for a breathtaking journey high into the Tablelands to the picturesque village of Kuranda. Explore the Kuranda Markets and ride through the rainforest in an amphibious Army Duck. Return to the lowlands high above the canopy of the lush rainforest on the Skyrail Cableway. 
a  Visit the award-winning Tjapukai Aboriginal Cultural Park where the legends of the Dreamtime are brought to life. Enjoy the History and Creation Theatres, plus a boomerang throwing demonstration. (BD) 

Day 5 Sat: Lake Barrine Cruise – Townsville
Climb the high tropical plateau known as the Atherton Tablelands, where lush rainforests, waterfalls and lakes abound. Enjoy a guided cruise with full commentary on the serene crater of Lake Barrine. View Millaa Millaa Falls and the famous Curtain Fig Tree, before our journey south to Townsville.

Day 6 Sun: Wildlife Experience – Whitsundays
This morning we have breakfast with the animals at the Billabong Sanctuary. Enjoy a guided tour of the wildlife park, hand feed the kangaroos, pat a koala, view crocodiles and much more. Continue south through to Airlie Beach. At Shute Harbour, join a catamaran for the short cruise to Hamilton Island. Tonight enjoy a barbecue dinner at the Yacht Club overlooking the Marina.

Day 7 Mon: Hamilton Island 
Enjoy a day at leisure to explore Hamilton Island. There is the opportunity to join a morning tour of the island including a visit to the fauna park or take an afternoon cruise to Whitehaven Beach. Tonight is free for independent dining at one of the many restaurants on the island. (B)

Day 8 Tue: Rockhampton
8 Day clients (Tour Code QCH) conclude the tour this morning on Hamilton Island after breakfast.
9 Day clients (Tour Code QCHR) join the Sunlander train this morning for the journey to Brisbane.
Depart Hamilton Island by catamaran this morning and enjoy a short cruise, before rejoining our coach at Shute Harbour. Tour south through Mackay, Australia's sugar capital, to Rockhampton, situated on the banks of the broad Fitzroy River. 
a   We dine out this evening at the Dreamtime Cultural Centre, You will be entertained by the colorful music and dances of the Aboriginal and Islander people.

Day 9 Wed: Fraser Island
We cross the Tropic of Capricorn, as we head further south to Hervey Bay. Travel by launch to remarkable Fraser Island, the world's largest sand island. Renowned for its beauty and unique ecology, this island is now protected for posterity as a World Heritage Area.

Day 10 Thu: Fraser Island 4WD Adventure
This morning there is the opportunity to take a ranger-escorted bird watching tour. Join your 4WD vehicle for your half-day tour. Visit Pile Valley and the majestic rainforest at Central Station. Stop a while at Lake McKenzie, one of the island's beautiful freshwater lakes. (BD) 

Day 11 Fri: Gold Coast
Return to the mainland after breakfast. Travel along the Sunshine Coast, stopping at Australia Zoo, a wildlife park and home of the famous 'Crocodile Hunter'. (As Steve Irwin is often away, his appearance at the Zoo is infrequent). [11 Day clients (Tour Code: QCB) depart at 4.00pm at the Brisbane Transit Centre ]. Continue on to the exciting Gold Coast. Tonight visit Jupiters Casino using your complimentary monorail ticket.

Day 12 Sat: Byron Bay
Visit Cape Byron Lighthouse for views from Australia's most easterly point. Stop at colorful Byron Bay with time to explore. Continue Coffs Harbour.

Day 13 Sun:  Coffs Harbour – Depart Sydney
Visit Port Macquarie, then travel along the coastal route to Sydney, arriving at approximately 5.00pm (flights to depart after 7.00pm). (B)
